Easter weekend means spring is officially here, right? Well, since the Easter bunny isn’t actually stopping by our house this year – me and my hubby escaped for a little babymoon before #2 arrives – I thought I’d flashback to last spring when we celebrated the season with an all-about-gingham bbq.
Nothing says spring/summer like gingham. No matter if it’s red, blue, yellow or green, I love the stuff. So for a little weekend get together with a few good friends, I layered gingham on gingham. From front door to backyard, vibrant colors welcomed in the warm weather. The wreath was ribbon cut about 6″ long and tied around a metal wreath frame.
I made the tablecloth from some (cheap) green gingham from Jo-Ann’s – they’ve got a stock of every color. The flowers were actually a 6-pack that I hadn’t gotten around to planting in the garden, so I just tied some excess ribbon from the wreath to make them look slightly more intentional.
Lastly, the bunting was triangles cut with pinking sheers, then sewn together with some bright rick-rack. Excited for spring now? Get to it – bbq season is here!
