Party-in-a-box: Safari shower

I just love getting to help out friends when they throw special events for their loved ones. And it’s even better when I get to see how the host used my designs to help bring a party idea to life. When my friend Jordan was throwing a bridal shower for her soon-to-be sister-in-law, she knew she wanted a sophisticated safari theme since the couple will be heading to Africa for their honeymoon.

Getting the right mix of adult-animal but not-kid-jungle was key to the host, so I kept to a minimal cranberry, black, taupe palette. And since the party was being hosted in a restaurant (that I had never been to) decorations had to be flexible enough to work with any configuration. We landed on the essentials: name cards, menus, napkin rings (the couple’s monogram with a ribbon slipped through to tie around the napkin), a mantel banner and a couple other little touches. Jordan set it all up on festive zebra tablecloths and added white ceramic Jonathan Adler animals for centerpieces – what a cute touch!

  1. Love the invitations! Where was the invite printed or designed online? What was the back like?
