Spring has sprung

**Printables now available in the shop**

Not that we can ever complain about the weather around the Bay Area, but we’ve been having a super gorgeous time the last few weeks. To celebrate the blossoms in bloom and seeing a great crew of friends, we had a Sunday supper that was all about flowers, the grill, and (since you know I like reducing the effort) DIY.

Seats were set with Marimekko flower plates that we usually use in the backyard, but why not bring them on inside? The black and white linens are leftover from my wedding – amazingly all sewn by my mom. Namecards shouted out where to sit.

These totally unique flower holders were something my mom conjured up to go on the back of all the chairs at the wedding – she actually sewed 200+ of them. Amazing, huh?!

The food? Since our DIY grilled cheese bar was such a hit last fall, we repeated the theme with a DIY slider bar. A bit hard to imagine without the food yet off the grill, but picture the corn for the rolls, the chicken and cow for the grilled burgers and chicken breasts, and the asparagus for grilled veggies and asparagus salad. Everyone served themselves and got just what they wanted. (The other side of the island was for appetizers – everyone pitched in and brought something). To top it off? Another DIY station for strawberry shortcake. Yum!

And lastly, it’s always nice to send guests home with a little something to remember the party by, so everyone left with a box of muffins. Great night, great friends, great food.
